What the treadmill does
A treadmill base keeps pets running on a track to farm Speed passively. Our money guide already notes that Speed is the multiplier behind every egg run, so a working treadmill is what separates a stalled account from a snowballing one.
Setup basics
- Closed loop: build a track that returns to the start so pets never walk off and idle. A simple rectangle is the reliable first build.
- Keep it powered: an unpowered track stalls. Confirm power before you log off — a dead treadmill trains nothing.
- Defend it: guards and rival raiders target exposed bases. Wall the track and use a guard strategy so your trainers survive.

The "Reels" Treadmill Screen & Roblox Policy
Steal an Egg went massively viral on social media partly due to its unique treadmill design: an in-game simulated vertical video feed ("Reels") mounted directly on the treadmill console. Players could watch short-form viral clips to stay entertained while their avatars ran for speed.
Following debates over "doomscrolling" retention mechanics in games for younger audiences, Roblox introduced new compliance guidelines, leading to the temporary August 25 moderation review (detailed in our What Happened to Steal an Egg breakdown). The developer subsequently adapted the feature to ensure 100% platform compliance.
