These are the questions we get asked most often, grouped by what you are trying to do: start playing, redeem a code, push your Speed, build a roster, trade safely, catch an event, or check where a number came from. Every answer links to the page that goes deeper.
Getting started
What is Steal an Egg?
Steal an Egg is a Roblox heist-style game where you steal eggs from guarded nests, hatch them into pets that earn passive income, upgrade your base and Speed, and push into better biomes. The loop is steal → hatch → earn → upgrade → reach the next gate.
What should I do in my first 30 minutes?
Claim the free rewards (join the official group, favourite and like the game) for a lump of starting Speed, place and hatch your first eggs, and fill every pet slot before you spend anything on cosmetics. Then put your money into the treadmill, because Speed gates everything else.
Do I need to spend Robux to progress?
No. Game passes such as 2x Money and 2x Growth accelerate progression, but every biome and every pet tier is reachable without them. Passes are a time-saver, not a gate — check the game passes page for which ones actually pay back.
Codes
Are there any active codes right now?
The developer has not released a redemption system with active promo codes as of our last check. We track the official channels and update the codes page the moment something drops, and we list expired codes there too so you can tell the difference.
How do I redeem codes in Steal an Egg?
Where a redemption UI exists, open the game and look for the Twitter/X button on the left of the screen (top-left on mobile), paste the code into the box and press Redeem. If the button is missing, the game has no redemption system at that moment — nothing else will make a code work.
Progression
What does Speed actually do?
Speed is trained on the treadmill and gates every biome: it decides which regions you can enter safely, how fast you carry an egg back to your pen, and whether you outrun a guardian. It also carries a milestone: reaching Speed 150 doubles your mutation chance.
How do I raise my Speed fast?
Buy treadmill levels with spare cash early and often rather than saving for one big purchase, and AFK on the treadmill during night cycles when growth accelerates. Joining the official Roblox group also grants a permanent training bonus, and Trail items add flat Speed.
What does Rebirth do, and when should I do it?
Each Rebirth grants a permanent bonus across your equipped pets, which makes it the strongest long-term progression system in the game. Rebirth when the next tier of content is gated by income rather than Speed — doing it too early just slows your treadmill grind.
Pets & economy
What is the best pet for income?
The top end of the ladder is dominated by the rarest hatches — our pet tier list ranks by the data we can actually confirm rather than by copied numbers. What matters more in practice is filling every slot: a full team of mid-tier pets usually beats one rare pet sitting next to empty slots.
Is trading safe?
Only trade through the official in-game system, never go first with a stranger, and never click a "verify" or "free pet" link sent in a direct message. Our trading guide lists the common scams and how values compare, and the pet value calculator helps you sanity-check an offer before accepting.
Do mutations stack, and are they worth chasing?
Mutations are random modifiers that raise a pet’s value and earning rate, and they can stack on a single pet. They are worth chasing because the same hatch work pays more, but they are pure luck — plan volume rather than expecting a specific roll. The mutations guide covers how each tier behaves.
Events
What is an Admin Abuse event?
It is a developer-run live window where the studio switches on temporary server-wide multipliers and sometimes boosts spawn or mutation rates. It is a normal Roblox tradition, not an exploit or a bug, and every player in the server benefits equally.
Was Steal an Egg deleted?
No. The game was temporarily delisted on August 25, 2026 over its treadmill video-feed feature and came back the same day; progress was not wiped. The what-happened page has the full timeline, and the update log tracks what shipped afterwards.
Where do new events and codes get announced first?
Official announcements land on the game’s Roblox listing and in the developer’s community Discord, usually shortly before a window opens. We mirror the start and end times on the events page, and we re-check the dates rather than keeping a countdown that nobody can guarantee.
Data & trust
Where do the numbers on this site come from?
Player counts, visits and favourites are pulled from the official Roblox API. Everything else is labelled by evidence tier — official, creator-observed or unverified — and the data sources page lists the specific endpoints and the last verified date for each dataset.
Do you guess values that are not published?
No. Where the developer does not publish a figure — per-egg income or exact hatch odds, for example — we say so, rank by the data we do have, and let the calculators take your own observed rates. An unsourced number is never presented as fact.
Tools & community
Is there an egg notifier for Steal an Egg?
Searches for egg notifier steal an egg and steal an egg notifier point at third-party Discord bots and community trackers that ping you when rare eggs spawn. We do not run or endorse a specific notifier, and any bot that asks for your account login is a scam — keep it to in-game alerts and official community channels. Verify spawn windows on the eggs page rather than trusting a bot screenshot.
What is the Steal an Egg tracker?
A steal an egg tracker is a community-made sheet or bot that logs which eggs are spawning and where. They are useful for planning nest runs, but spawn data is community-observed, not official, so treat any tracker as a guide, not gospel. Cross-check against the egg database on this site before committing to a long heist route.
What is Steal an Egg CCU and how many play right now?
CCU means concurrent users — the live player count at this moment. The current steal an egg ccu is shown on our homepage and about page straight from the official Roblox API (playing count), refreshed by our data scraper. It swings hard during Admin Abuse and update windows, so check it live rather than trusting a screenshot from hours ago.
Is there a Steal an Egg Reddit or Discord?
The main community hub is the official developer Discord (linked from the game’s Roblox page), not a steal an egg reddit subreddit we can verify. Join the official Discord for announcements, codes and spawn callouts; we mirror event times on the events page. Be wary of look-alike servers — confirm the invite from the game’s official listing before joining.

Start with the Beginner Guide, check codes, plan upgrades with the calculators, or read the Trading & Values guide. If a page here is wrong, the contact page explains how to send a correction — and the data sources page shows where each number came from.
