Data Sources & Verification

Every figure on this site is attributed to a source, and anything unconfirmed is labelled as such rather than presented as fact.

Content datasets

Beyond live stats, the reference data on this site is compiled and re-verified on a schedule:

  • Badges & achievements — last verified 2026-10-12.
  • Similar / lookalike games — last verified 2026-10-12.
  • Pets, eggs, biomes, upgrades, game passes — compiled from the official game and cross-checked against community observation, with figures refreshed as the game updates.
  • Codes — tracked against official channels and re-checked on every update (see the Codes page).
  • Events & limited-time windows — pulled automatically from the official Roblox Virtual Events API for the game universe, so a new drop (for example the upcoming Light vs Darkness event) shows its official start and end times the moment it is published, with no manual re-keying.

Our no-guess policy

Where a figure is not published by the developer — per-egg income or exact hatch odds, for example — we say so rather than invent a number. Our calculators let you enter your own observed rates, and our tier lists rank by the data we actually have.

What we can verify automatically — and what we cannot

Being honest about our own method matters as much as the numbers themselves. Two clearly different kinds of data live on this site, and they deserve different levels of confidence:

  • Automated. Player counts, visits, favourites and the game pass list are fetched from Roblox endpoints. Nobody types these in, so they cannot drift through a typo — but they are a snapshot, and the date next to them is when we last pulled them.
  • Automated from the events API. Official event windows and their start and end times come from Roblox's Virtual Events API, so a published drop appears with its real timestamps instead of a hand-copied guess.
  • Compiled by hand, then re-checked. Pets, eggs, biomes, upgrades, Speed gates and strategies are written from gameplay, the official listing and credited creator videos. This is where an error is most likely, and it is why every such page carries a source label and a reviewed date.
  • Deliberately left out. Undocumented multipliers, unpublished drop percentages and community-reported pet names do not get published as fact. Where they are mentioned at all, they are marked as unconfirmed and explained.

Challenging a number

If a figure here disagrees with what you can see in-game, we would rather hear about it than keep it. Send the page URL, what you observed, and — if you have one — a screenshot or a video timestamp. Verifiable corrections are applied and the page's reviewed date moves; anything we cannot confirm stays marked as unconfirmed rather than being quietly changed to match. The about page describes the three evidence tiers we use, and the contact page is where corrections go.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does Steal an Egg Wiki get its numbers?

Player counts, visits, and favorites come from the live Roblox API for the official game universe. Pet, egg, biome, and badge data is compiled from the official game and cross-checked against community observation, then re-verified on a regular cadence.

Do you guess values that are not published?

No. Where the developer does not publish a figure (for example per-egg income or exact hatch odds), we say so and either rank by the data we do have or let our calculators take your own input. We never present an unsourced number as fact.

How often is the data refreshed?

Live Roblox stats are re-pulled frequently, and content datasets such as badges are re-verified on a scheduled basis. Each dataset carries a last-verified date so you can see how fresh the data is.
