Where your money comes from

Steal an Egg has four income sources, and their weight changes dramatically as you progress:

Early game: pet volume wins

In the opening hours, 70% of your money is pet passive income. The strategy is simple: fill every pet slot with the fastest hatches you can get. Spam the Meadow Egg (30-second hatch) until every slot works, then move to the Rare Egg for 1x-4x multiplier pets.

Never buy an upgrade that leaves a pet slot empty for long. A filled slot earning pennies beats a slot that earns nothing while you save for walls.

Late game: the big three

Once you reach the end-game, income splits almost evenly between pet passive (35%), treadmill (30%) and base income (30%). This is where the Lava Egg shines: a single legendary Lava pet reports up to ~$77,000/s at full bonuses - more than an entire starter roster combined.

The end-game roster is built on Mythic pets from Mythic and Cosmic eggs, boosted by your rebirth bonus. Each rebirth's permanent +5% passive income bonus applies to every one of these pets, so rebirths and pets compound together.

Treadmill economics

The treadmill is a money engine, not just a stat gate. Its training payouts grow with level, and Speed unlocks the biomes where better eggs live. Every coin spent on the treadmill is spent twice: once as income, once as biome access.

Two specific thresholds matter for money:

• Speed 150: Doubles mutation chance from 2% to 4%, yielding higher income multipliers.
• Speed 1.5M: Unlocks Storm Peaks and the high-yield Cosmic Egg rotations.
• Speed 2.5B: Unlocks Cherry Blossom where the $145M/s Secret Stag and Kitsune mutations dwell.

AFK & overnight earnings

There is a real difference between being AFK inside a server and simply closing the game. The night growth multiplier — roughly 30x per 4-5 minute cycle — only applies while your account is actually sitting in an active server. That is why experienced players AFK through the night instead of logging off: the same eight hours produce very different results.

• Stay in the server: park on the treadmill so Speed keeps training while your eggs grow.
• Fill every slot first: idle income scales with your roster, so an empty pet slot is eight wasted hours of income.
• Time it with the night window: log in before the reset to catch the big mutated eggs, then settle in to AFK.
• Model it first: the income calculator projects an 8-hour AFK total for any roster, so you know whether the session is worth it before you start it.

Roblox has not published how much income accrues while you are fully offline, so we do not publish an offline rate either. Everything above describes being present in a server — the only scenario we can actually verify.

Pet Index Discovery Multiplier Strategy

One of the easiest ways to multiply your cashflow without spending Robux is maximizing the Pet Index. Every time you register a newly discovered pet tier or variant in the Index, the game awards:

• Instant Cash & Speed Payouts: Direct lump-sum payouts that scale with the rarity of the discovered pet.
• Global Income Multiplier Milestones: Reaching 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% Index completion adds permanent +5% to +25% revenue multipliers across your entire equipped team.
• Defensive Bat Skins & Traps: Unlocking full biome rosters awards specialized baseball bat skins (with extended knockback distance) and base security traps to defend your hatched pet pen from invaders.
• Pro Strategy: Never skip hatching cheap low-tier eggs from the Lake and Jungle biomes — unlocking all common/uncommon variants triggers the early Index milestone multipliers in under 15 minutes!

Best egg per stage

• Starter Egg (Instant) - Brand-new players.
• Meadow Egg (~30 seconds) - Early-game passive income.
• Rare Egg (~2 minutes) - Mid-game income core.
• Epic Egg (~8 minutes) - Mid-to-late transition.
• Mythic Egg (~5 hours growth) - Late-game goals.

If you spend Robux, value for money is X2 Money (doubles every source of income, which is every source in this guide) → X2 Growth (accelerates egg and pet growth).
