The core loop

Steal an Egg has one loop that everything else feeds into:

• Steal eggs from guarded nests across each biome.
• Hatch them into pets that earn passive income.
• Upgrade your base income multiplier and defenses.
• Train on the treadmill to raise Speed.
• Speed unlocks biomes with better eggs → better pets → more money.

That is the whole game. Every strategy guide, including this one, is just an optimization of that loop.

Your first hour - step by step

1. Hatch the Starter Egg immediately

The game gives you a Starter Egg the moment you spawn. Hatch it right away - even a Common pet earns more than an empty slot. Never let a pet slot sit empty.

2. Farm Meadow Eggs until every slot is full

Meadow Eggs hatch in about 30 seconds and are everywhere in the starter biome. Spam them until all of your pet slots are filled with working pets. This is your passive income engine.

3. Buy Treadmill levels with spare cash

Speed is the single most important stat in the game. Early treadmill levels are cheap and compound forever. Buy them before anything else.

4. Learn guard patterns in Meadow Ridge

The starter biome is the safest place to learn how guards patrol. Watch their routes, time your dashes, and practice escape routes before you risk real eggs.

5. Push toward the Desert at Speed 50

Once your Speed hits 50, the Desert hard gate opens. Grab Rare Eggs from its nests - they become your mid-game income core.

Upgrade order that actually works

The base has five upgrades. Here is the priority order that works for most players:

1. Treadmill (Critical) - The single most important upgrade in the game.
2. Base Income Multiplier (High) - Raises your base's passive income multiplier.
3. Walls (Medium) - Reinforces your base so hostile players and guards take longer to break in.
4. Alarms (Medium) - Detects intruders early and warns you before they reach your egg stash.
5. Turrets (Low) - Automated defense towers that shoot intruders.

Treadmill first, always. Base Income Multiplier second. Defense upgrades (Walls, Alarms, Turrets) only pay off once your base is actually being raided.

Index Rewards: The Secret Permanent Multipliers

The Pet Index tracks every unique pet variant you have ever hatched or acquired. Many new players ignore the Index menu, leaving massive free progression buffs on the table:

• Discovery Cash & Speed Milestones: Claiming rewards in your Index menu grants instant bonus cash packs and permanent +5% to +25% speed training buffs for every collection milestone.
• Volume Hatching Strategy: In the early game, purposely hatch cheap common eggs across Lake and Jungle to fill your Index before pushing for rare end-game eggs.

PvP Egg Theft & Base Traps Defense

In public servers, other players can intercept you while carrying eggs or attempt to raid unbanked eggs in your pen:

• Ground Traps: Place purchaseable base traps (spring pads & stun fields) along your incubator entryway to knock down approaching egg snatchers.
• Inventory Lock Protocol: Always lock high-value pets (like Kitsune, Stag, and Eternal Lunar Dragon) immediately in your inventory to prevent accidental recycling or loss.
• Safe Transit: Never carry an unhatched egg around the map longer than necessary — sprint directly from nests to your hatching pen.

Before grinding, claim the developer's free social bonuses:

Common beginner mistakes

• Entering biomes at bare minimum speed: Running at the exact entry gate means Guardians will catch and ragdoll you. Always aim for 2x the speed gate.
• Forgetting to claim Index milestones: Check your Index tab after every bulk hatching session.
• Wasting growth boosters on low-tier eggs. Save them for Mythic, Cosmic, and Cherry Blossom eggs.
• Buying turrets too early. They are the most expensive upgrade and useless if nobody raids you.
• Hoarding eggs instead of hatching. An unhatched egg earns nothing.
• Ignoring the rare egg race. It is a small but consistent income source even early on.

If you plan to spend Robux, the best value order is X2 Money, then X2 Growth, then Grow All for large rosters, and Instant Hatch if you play events.

• X2 Money - Essential. Doubles all money earned from pets, treadmill training and base income.
• X2 Growth - Very good. Doubles pet growth speed, which accelerates egg hatching and pet maturation timers.
• Instant Hatch - Good for speed. Removes egg hatching timers entirely - every egg hatches the moment it is placed.
• Grow All - Late-game value. Grows every pet in your roster simultaneously instead of one at a time, massively increasing total passive income across all slots.
